• Methods: n=3234 with IFG and IGT, txd with Placebo vs MF 850 bd vs lifestyle-modification program (aim 7% wt loss and >=150min physical activity per week)
• Results: mean FU 2.8y, incidence of diabetes: 11.0 vs 7.8 vs 4.8%, i.e. reduction in risk by 31% with MF and 58% with lifestyle-modification (but the latter much cheaper: see cost-effectiveness: American College of Physicians: pdf;)
